Tykes Academy began with a simple belief: children deserve more than just a safe place to spend their day—they deserve a warm, nurturing environment where they can learn, grow, and feel truly at home.
In our early days as Kinder Tykes, we offered certified in-home care to a small group of families in Hebron, Kentucky. Children played, explored, and learned in a cozy home setting where relationships came first. As our community grew, so did our vision. Families wanted the same trusted care but with expanded opportunities for socialization, learning, and enrichment.
That vision inspired our transformation into Tykes Academy, a Type II licensed childcare center, allowing us to serve more families while preserving the warmth and personal connection that have defined us from the start.
Now, we’re taking the next exciting step in our journey:
Located in Florence, KY, our new Type I licensed center will offer eleven classrooms designed to support every stage of early learning—from infancy through preschool. This expansion means more space for creativity, collaboration, and discovery, while maintaining the same quality and care that families have come to trust.
At Tykes Academy, we blend the comfort of our in-home roots with the professionalism and structure of a licensed early learning program. Our Creative Curriculum® ensures that children learn through play—not rote memorization—building skills in problem-solving, social-emotional growth, and communication. We also provide diapers, wipes, healthy meals, and Kendamill® infant formula at no cost to families, removing barriers so every child can thrive.
We’re not just preparing children for kindergarten—we’re helping them develop the resilience, empathy, and confidence to flourish in every stage of life.
