Tykes Academy was created to offer families something often missing in early childhood care: a place where children are truly known, routines are consistent, and care feels both personal and dependable.
Our Florence location reflects years of experience in early childhood education and a deep understanding of what families value most—safety, stability, and meaningful relationships.
Tykes Academy began as a certified in-home childcare program serving local families who wanted relationship-based care in a warm, familiar environment.
As those families grew—and their needs evolved—we listened. Parents wanted the comfort of home-style care alongside the reliability, staffing, and structure of a licensed center. The Florence location was intentionally designed to meet that need.
This growth was not about becoming bigger—it was about becoming better equipped to support children and families.
Home-based care offers many strengths, but it also comes with limitations. A center allows us to provide:
By combining the warmth of home-based care with the standards of a school, we created an environment that feels personal, intentional, and dependable.
Tykes Academy is founder-led and guided by experience in child development, education, and program design.
Our leadership team is deeply involved in daily operations, ensuring that our values are reflected in every classroom, routine, and family interaction. Decisions are made with children’s well-being at the center—not corporate checklists or franchise mandates.
This hands-on leadership allows us to maintain consistency, high standards, and a strong sense of community.
Our values are not slogans—they guide how we show up every day.
These values shape our approach to care, learning, and communication.
We are committed to creating an environment where families feel confident in their care choice and children feel secure in their day-to-day experiences.
From the first tour to daily classroom routines, our goal is to provide care that feels organized, thoughtful, and aligned with each child’s developmental needs.
Tykes Academy is proud to serve families in Florence and the surrounding Northern Kentucky community. We believe strong early childhood programs strengthen families, schools, and communities—and we take that responsibility seriously.
Choosing care is a meaningful decision, and we believe families deserve transparency, respect, and connection throughout the process.
